Last week we visited one of our daughters who, along with her husband, lives in a very arid part of the USA. They had planted a peony this spring and as you can imagine, it requires lots of water. When it doesn’t get what it needs, it droops in a very sad way. Her husband described it as being “dramatic”. Sure enough as soon as you give it what it needs, what it wants, it perks right up.
They were rewarded for their attention by a beautiful flower this week. A little sumpin’ sumpin’ for their efforts. Drama of a different kind.
Nothing wrong with asking for what we need even in a dramatic way, although I’ll admit I prefer calm and reasonable. Our Heavenly Father hears us and is delighted to shower blessings on us whether we are being dramatic or are barely able to speak. Our gratitude back is a perfect little sumpin’ sumpin’ to delight His ears.
