The Gospels record several different instances in which Jesus broke bread and fed the people with Him. Two instances are recorded where He used what seems like meager provisions to feed crowds of thousands, where He gave thanks and broke the bread. And there was miraculous provision for all.
Palm Sunday is the start of Holy Week. Thursday of this week, we will remember another instance where Jesus gave thanks and broke bread during the Passover meal, the Last Supper with His disciples.
While the setting was different, the symbolism of the bread broken is to spiritually feed, to rescue from a spiritual hunger, all who would remember. Miraculous provision available for all who believe.
No exceptions.
