Changes

All. The. Time. Things change all the time. Yet in some ways, the more they change, the more they stay the same. In this season of elections (over 65 worldwide), we are promised change! But upon reflection, rarely get much. Especially when we are promised positive change. Grin.

Yet we are invited to allow God to change our lives. One way He does that is by inviting us to apprentice with Him, to deliberately choose to walk with Jesus and learn His Way, to open ourselves to the Spirit. That’s not as easy as it may sound obviously. But it is, as some of us know, well worth the effort to engage in self-examination and reflection especially when the easy route is to wave our hand dismissively and either deny that something is still an issue in our life or deny that it ever was an issue. You can trust that if someone or a group of someones is bringing it up to you, the issue is still there. Yikes!

Good news is our Master is available to soften our hearts and change them. If we let Him.

This is also a time of change for me. In July and August, I am going to take a short sabbatical from writing this blog for several reasons. First in early July I am getting a bionic hip, the first of two. I realize that’s a fancy way of saying my hips look like shark infested waters with no cushion. Arthritis can catch up with you.

Second I am considering moving my blog to Substack as a publication platform. That’s still to be determined but so far I have enjoyed the community there much more than some of the other social media platforms. But no decision yet.

In the meantime, my prayer for you, dear reader, is peace, joy, contentment, tolerable weather, and a heart filled with the promptings of the Holy Spirit.
