Recently I had a series of “events” occur that left me rather unmoored and a bit depleted. Don’t get me wrong. “Events” are not necessarily bad. They can also be joyful and good and that was certainly the mix for me. They were also strung out enough over a period of months, so that I didn’t realize where I was.
Then, as in so many situations, there was a single event which brought me up short and made me realize I needed some care and feeding. It also helped remind me that where I am caring and feeding others may not always be the same place where I receive care and feeding. However, for me where I receive is also where I also try to remember to reciprocate, not just receive.
The beautiful part was how God planned in advance to cover me in this day of war and restore me. Lunch with a long-time dear friend, dinner with part of our family, a video chat with a couple we love which was a surprise for all of us, a FaceTime moment from a grandson who really just wants to press the red off button, some time with my husband. My sense of being anchored and loved was replenished, and I can now go back out to care for and feed others.
Sometimes we just need to be reminded that God loves us and He brings others around us to do that. Thank You!
