Roads, highways, lanes, whatever you call them in whatever form they take, they are the accepted way to get from here to there. In general we think about roads from the perspective of travel even if that travel is just to get to the grocery.
Sometimes there are unexpected events which occur as we travel down a road. Construction, a detour, a wreck, a beautiful scene, all sorts of things. Think also the Road to Emmaus and the Road to Damascus. Both of those historial, Biblical journeys involved life changing events, so much so that we understand exactly what kind of change or transformation occurred when the phrase is used.
And all too often, we travel life waiting for, hoping for, expecting a Road To occurrence. Sometimes we get one. Sometimes our lives have a vivid encounter with the Risen Jesus. Most of the time, though, we walk with Him quietly without any spectacular event.
Except for His Presence. And that alone is spectacular.
