Recovery

Traveling is always exciting and interesting even if you are going someplace you’ve been before. You never know what you might have missed the last time.

And then when you factor in the people you meet or re-meet on a trip, there truly is something new every time.

We just returned home from a rather extended trip. It involved a LOT of travel and a LOT of people. Now most people view travel or vacationing as relaxation and there is some element of truth in that. However, it can also be stressful and if it involves family, it might even be very stressful. So we always plan on some adventure recovery days.

We also know that often our travels include “appointments” – people we are supposed to meet for some reason. Either we are bringing something to them or they to us. This requires a type of awareness and reflection which only God can give.

So we also try to have adventure preparation days, so we will be prepared for whatever appointments are scheduled.

Isn’t it true, though, that each day has appointments if we are aware? All our interactions bring a message of Who God is and of His love. In II Corinthians 5:20 we are called Christ’s ambassadors. This is true whether our travel/adventure is to Costa Rica, Wyoming, or the local grocery.

How’s your adventure preparation coming along?
