Fall dilly-dallied around this year but when it finally decided – in mid-November for pity’s sake – to show up, it showed up big. The participation level was like a grade-school field day.
What is interesting about fall and all the leaf colors is how hidden they are all the rest of the year. Leaves are busy using chlorophyll, which gives the green color, to make food. The oranges and reds and yellows, and yes, browns, that are the actual colors of the leaves are hidden away behind the business and busyness of survival. It is only as rest approaches and the busyness ceases that we get to see the fire within.
People and leaves. The fire within only emerges when we pause long enough to draw it forth.
Rest and recharge. I love this analogy. Thank you!
