This morning when we awoke, we were greeted with snow. In April. After it was 50+ degrees yesterday. With gorgeous flowering trees.
By 11 am, most of the 2 or so inches were melted or very close, giving our lawn and plants a big drink of water.
Sometimes when I most need a big drink of water, hope, encouragement, it comes in a surprising and a bit unwelcome way. Like snow in April. Like the cross for Jesus. The disciples plummeted from the Hosanna of Palm Sunday to the unwelcome sight of the cross and then just as astonishingly, to the heights of the Resurrected Lord.
May I remember to hold on, to wait, in the changes both unexpected and good.
