Ride for the Brand

So last blog post, I used a phrase “ride for the brand”. I want to talk a little bit more about what that means, in addition to the loyalty factor.

When you sign on with an outfit, whether company, ranch, restaurant, family, friends, tribe, whatever, you choose to have the best interest of that outfit at the core of how you behave as long as you are part of it. You choose to be the best representative of that outfit that you can be. I mentioned that part before.

In order to figure out what that best is, you need to know about the outfit. When you ride for the brand, you know what the literal or figurative brand is and whose it is. You get to know the range they occupy and the livestock they run including the nasty headstrong ones that will charge your horse. You know the neighbors you can trust, and the ones you get along with but keep an eye on. All of that requires time being with the outfit, learning about it and the boss and the other hands.

When you ride for the Brand, when you choose to sign on with Jesus, learning about His Outfit is critical. Spending time with others who also ride for the brand is important and knowing what the dangers are keeps you close to the One you ride for. Deepening trust comes from deepening understanding and knowledge.

Remember Whose Brand you ride for.
