
The tile installation above was created to decorate the cafeteria at Esperanza de Ana in Chilca, Peru. There are all different kinds of things represented in each tile and it is interesting to browse them wondering what prompted each one.
One tile particularly caught my eyes:

I was struck be the joining of “arms” on two of the crosses, remembering that one of the criminals crucified with Our Lord Jesus acknowledged His Sonship and was told he would be with Jesus in Paradise (Luke 23:39-43). We all come to the cross to receive grace and mercy; Jesus extends His arms to bridge the gap between Him and us.
