There is very little that beats the wonder of a small child. As we get older, we tend to be less impressed by things in nature and more impressed with things contrived. I mean really, what compares to a Transformer or Ewoks?
We visited our youngest grandchild this past weekend (and his parents too). He is busy and curious and a bit of a daredevil. I don’t envy his parents; there is a good reason children come along early in life.
I was struck by how enchanted and amazed he is by things such as standing on an ottoman daring his mother to catch him while he shouts “Wow!”
Sunrises. Sunsets. Swirling stuff. Cardinals. Formations of geese. Spring flowers. Small children.
