Boundaries

Consider the following:

• The #metoo circle continues to expand as more and more unacceptable and quite frankly just plain wrong behavior is brought to light.
• While the debate rages on as to which is superior, rap music or rock music, many genres’ lyrics continue to vie for most likely to offend your parents.
• While there is no real accounting to back the numbers, the porn industry is said to be worth $97 BILLION by several estimates.
• The boundaries of what is acceptable in prime time television are pretty much non-existent. Do we even have censors any more?

So the question to ponder is this: why is the entertainment industry continuing to profit from glorifying and celebrating the very behavior that is rightly condemned by #metoo? By spending my dollars to purchase entertainment which blatantly says that sexual harassment, misconduct, discrimination, and assault are “fine”, am I not complicit?

Hmm.
