This week I’ve been in Wyoming visiting family. It is wild country with sweeping landscapes that defy you to deny God and His provision.

See what I mean? When I am here it is really easy to see God’s hand.
Most of the time, though, I live in a city. My world is largely man-made with nods to nature such as parks and landscaping – seemingly sterile reminders.
Most mornings I walk from the parking garage down the ramp to my office. The ramp winds through the landscaping – a concrete barrier that keeps one from showing up at the office covered in mud and brambles. A safe passage.
Lately though I have noticed some intruders on my safe passage. Most of the time it is lost and wandering worms after a rain. Although by the time I see them they really aren’t wandering much. Last week it was two baby birds. The week before a small snake. That startled me a bit I’ll admit. Sometimes it is an interesting bug. Or a generic black bug.
The sterile reminders of God’s creation are actually full of life – I just don’t see it or just don’t notice it most of the time.
Lord, I am grateful for the “intruders” who remind me that even in the most unlikely places You are there.
