Roadside Strawberries

strawberries

Nothing beats strawberries straight from the vine still warm with sunshine.  They taste different, smell different, and just are different than what you most often can purchase from your grocery.  There are different ways to get the real deal including from a farmer’s market or from one of those you-pick places.

OR when you are flying down a country road at just the right time of year, watch for the signs along the road. “Strawberries“. What that tells you is that immediately up ahead someone has a truck (which sometimes is also a weed-monkey and yes that is a word and a description but that’s a story for another time or for Google) and the tailgate will be down and the back will be full of boxes or little green plastic crates of the most misshapen, non-uniform, delicious red goodness.  They will be juicy, tasty, and downright worth every penny you might be asked to pay for them.  And you’ll load them up in your car and eat them all before you can even get home. Oh, my.

Crazy God-opportunities are like that. You get just barely enough time to make a leap of faith. Just barely enough time to figure out if you have enough cash in your wallet (are you prepared?). Just barely enough time to get in the right lane to pull over and stop (immediate obedience). But, oh, the reward!

So be prepared so when you see the strawberry sign” or hear the “strawberry call” or feel the “strawberry nudge”, you have the resources and are well-positioned to obey!
