Worthless

“They followed worthless idols and themselves became worthless.”

Worthless.  Without worth. Of no use, value or importance. Good for nothing.

“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
– Luke 12:34

Fool’s gold. Fake stocks. Glitter with no substance. Bigger and fancier. First-world problems. Pride. Worthless treasure. What am I chasing? Where am I looking? Who am I following?

O Lord, keep me from following worthless idols and becoming worthless.  Don’t let me treasure the things of this world and miss the things of eternity.  I don’t want to be worthless or even worth-less.  I want my heart to be saturated with You and eternity and mercy and grace. And that’s really hard some days.  Most days. But mercy triumphs over judgement! (James 2:13)
